First-time mother and supermodel Gisele Bundchen has claimed that breastfeeding her baby boy helped get her back in shape.
The supermodel, who gave birth to son Benjamin in December, shared her opinion on the never-ending debate between the benefits of breastfeeding versus feeding a baby formula.
“Some people (in the US) think they don”t have to breastfeed, and I think, ”Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?”” the New York Daily News quoted Bundchen as telling Harper”s Bazaar UK.
She added, “I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”
The Brazilian beauty, who is married to NFL hunk Tom Brady, also said that it was very easy to give birth.
Thanks to some meditating, the model said the eight-hour natural birthing process “didn”t hurt in the slightest.”
“It prepared me mentally and physically. It”s called ”labor” not ”holiday” for a reason, and I knew that,” she said.
“You want to go into the most intense physical experience of your life unprepared? That doesn”t make any sense to me.
“Then I was ready and I thought OK, let”s get to work.
“I wasn”t expecting someone else to get the baby out of me, she continued.
Supermodel and new mum Gisele Bundchen is such a fitness freak that she was kung fu kicking and doing yoga even two weeks before she went into labour.
The Brazilian catwalk queen only gained 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms) during her pregnancy.
And the stunner easily managed to lose her baby weight because she didn”t over indulge or give up her fitness regime.
“I did kung fu up until two weeks before Benjamin was born, and yoga three days a week,” the Daily Star quoted her as telling the new issue of Vogue magazine.
“And I think a lot of people get pregnant and decide they can turn into garbage disposals,” she added.
Bundchen and her American footballer husband Tom Brady welcomed their son in December (09).
Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen’s newborn baby boy Benjamin has made his debut in a picture for a magazine.
The picture in Brazilian magazine Quem showed the two-month-old baby all bundled up in a blue jacket and matching hat while dozing off in 29-year-old Bundchen’s arms, reports Us magazine.
The model had given birth to Benjamin on December 8 in the bathtub of the Boston townhouse she shares with husband Tom Brady.
She told the magazine that she was “washing the dishes and making pancakes” just two days after giving birth.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has donated 1.5 million dollars to Haiti earthquake victims, it has emerged.
The Brazilian has reportedly forwarded the money to Red Cross.
A source said that the beauty “was so moved, she knew she had to do what she could to help.”
Bundchen had earlier expressed sorrow over the natural calamity.
“I am heartbroken by the catastrophic events of the past six days in Haiti. It is important in times like these that we come together and find ways to help in any way we can,” People magazine quoted her as saying.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti earlier this week.
Meanwhile, other celebrities including Wycleaf Jea, Angelina Jolie, Greorge Clooney, have urged fans to donate for the cause.
Gisele Bundchen, who is expecting a child with husband Tom Brady, recently did a photo shoot for a coat company and her baby bump was not visible.
However, a representative of London Fog, the clothing company inadvertently confirmed her pregnancy, on which the model has maintained her silence so far.
“Although Gisele was photographed while pregnant, most of the shots have been retouched to respect her privacy during this wonderful and personal time in her life,” Contactmusic quoted Dari Marder, Chief Marketing Officer, as saying in a statement.
“Nobody is sexier or more beautiful than Gisele Bundchen in nothing but a London Fog trench coat, even with her visible baby bump,” Marder added.
The brand””s autumn advert features Bundchen wearing nothing but the firm””s trench coats.
If sources are to be believed, ‘pregnant’ Gisele Bundchen is due to give birth on December 14.
The supermodel’s recent photograph with her hubby Tom Brady leaving a New York obstetrician”s office has been the source of speculation for the pregnancy.
To add to it, she also wore baggy clothes during a catwalk at Sao Paulo fashion week and appeared in a new advert campaign for Loewe with oversized handbags hiding her stomach.
“Gisele has always wanted to be a mom, and she is deeply in love with Tom. This is the happiest she”s ever been,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling Life and Style Weekly magazine.
While on TV show Fantastico, Gisele hinted she was ready to have a baby after revealing she loves helping to care for Tom”s 21-month-old son John from a previous relationship.
Bundchen said: “I am crazy about children. I am an adoptive mother. I”ve already had this experience for two years.”
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who is reportedly expecting her first child, has said that she is “crazy about children” and “prefers to stay at home.”
After getting married to Tom Brady, the stunner is already looking after 21-month-old John, his son with actress Bridget Moynahan.
“I am crazy about children … I am an adoptive mother … I”ve already had this experience for two years,” People magazine quoted her as telling in a TV interview with Brazil”s Fantastico.
Gisele also talked about her relationship with Tom, and raising the family, she said: “I prefer to stay at home. The big husband wins. Because of this relationship, what is most important to me is the family. Now I am creating my other family.
“I think I”ve met the right person, my partner, my companion, I already knew that we would get married a year and a half before we got married. We felt it. The heart spoke louder.”
She also referred to her sun-sign to explain her nature.
“I am Cancer. I want to stay at home, cooking, relaxing. You have to follow the heart.
“Before … I had to go out, had to work. Now I think about it twice, three times, four times. So I only do the things that I really want to do,” she added.
