Shakira has launched her new fragrance, ‘S by Shakira’, which she claims to be as unique as her own songs.
Shakira, the newest addition to Hollywood’s roster of celebrity perfumers, has bottled her famous sex appeal for her new fragrance.
“The type of women who feel a connection with this fragrance would be independent and strong, but also a woman with a great capacity to love and a strong sense of who they are. It’s for a woman who believes in herself,” People quoted her as saying.
The Grammy Award winner has collaborated with Puig to explore her delicate side with a scent that exudes simplicity, sensuality and self.
The fragrance’s signature notes are bright jasmine, sandalwood and an oriental dream housed in a luminous bottle that evokes an oriental dancer.
“Like one of my songs, I wanted S by Shakira to tell a story, and to be something personal and unique. A perfume has to really reflect something inside you, make you connect with it in an emotional way,” she added.
‘S by Shakira’ will hit shelves in September, with prices ranging from 17 dollars to 35 dollars.
But from the sound of it, Shakira is looking for a cadre of hit scents to join her platinum records, exclaiming, “S by Shakira is only the beginning!”
Pop star Shakira says she doesn‘t want to get hitched to her fiancé Antonio De La Rúa.
The Hips Don‘t Lie singer, however, wants to start a family with her boyfriend.
“No, I have no plans to get married. Ever,” News Of the World quoted her as saying.
“There””””””””s something romantic about being someone””””””””s girlfriend forever. I like the state that I””””””””m in.
“I definitely plan to have children but I don””””””””t see a wedding dress anyway,” she added.
Colombian singer Shakira has revealed that the World cup concert is unforgettable – because her ”emotional” performance left her parents teary and proud.
The 33-year-old star performed in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2010 singing the official anthem ”Waka Waka” in South Africa earlier this month.
She admitted that she was ecstatic along with her parents who expressed their pleasure in a tearful phone call from their native place.
“That was amazing… one of the most memorable moments – of not only my career but of my life. It was just so emotional. I think that the fact that the World Cup is taking place in Africa just makes it extra special. South Africa is also a country that has so much history and it was just one of those moments I”m sure I”ll never forget,”” the Daily Star quoted Shakira as telling James Corden in the World Cup Live show.
“You know, my mum, my dad, everybody called me from Colombia, they were crying… It was especially emotional for a lot of people. I don”t know why. There was something in the air that day,” she added.
Shakira has admitted that she is obsessed with chocolates and realised it only when she woke up with tears in her eyes.
The ‘Waka Waka’ hit-maker has revealed that she woke up teary-eyed after dreaming of chocolate, while she was dieting to get in shape for her music video, ”She Wolf”, reports China Daily
“I love chocolate. I”m addicted to it. Do you know when I realised that? Shortly before we started shooting the video for ”She Wolf,” she told website Tagesspiegel.de.
“I needed a whole month to get back into shape. I danced, worked out and had to stick to a strict diet – only fish, spinach and a specially-prepared dessert with tofu. For the first time in my life I was dreaming of chocolate and cake and always woke up with tears in my eyes.”
However, the Columbian-born beauty made sure she made up for her deprivation as soon as filming the video was complete.
“When we finished shooting the video I went to a cafe in Los Angeles and had five pieces of chocolate cake in one go!” she added.
Shakira is set to perform at this year”s Glastonbury Festival alongside a line-up of big stars including U2, Stevie Wonder, Muse and Snoop Dogg.
The Colombian sensation will present her gig on the Pyramid stage on Saturday June 26 at the festival in Somerset.
The festival is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
””Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I”m sure I”ll have a great time,” the Telegraph quoted her as saying.
””Shakira is not only an amazing pop star but also socially and politically forward thinking; she”s working incredibly hard for good causes around the world,” added organiser Emily Eavis.
””We feel honoured to have the ”She Wolf” herself come to Worthy Farm,” she said.
Shakira is looking forward to start a family with her long-term fiance Antonio De La Rua.
The singer is hoping to settle down but needs to fulfill her commitments first.
“Do I have any plans for children? Little wolves? Yeah, of course. I”d really like to have kids, but first I need to go on tour and release this new album – and then we can sit down and talk about it,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
The 33-year-old star told the Big Issue magazine that even though she and Antonio got engaged over four years ago, marriage is no longer high on her list of priorities.
“Maybe 15 years ago, I”d dream about wearing a white gown, a wedding cake and a room full of guests and me feeding them canapés,” she said.
Peace icon Mahatma Gandhi seems to be acclaimed recording artist Shakira”s favorite.
In the official statement by her on receiving medal of honor from International Labor Organization (ILO) for her work promoting social justice recently in Geneva (Switzerland), Shakira, 33, pointed out: Mahatma Gandhi said – “Be the change you want to see in the world”.
“It”s not too late to keep our promise to our children, but we must act now. Together, we can make education and decent work for all a reality”, Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll added.
Her website says: She finished her acceptance speech by quoting some wise words from Gandhi which have become her personal motto: “Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
Gandhi was the only world leader quoted in singer-songwriter-musician-record producer-dancer-philanthropist Shakira”s statement, who was born and raised in Colombia. Grammy award winner and Golden Globe nominated Shakira (Love in the Time of Cholera) has sold about 50 million albums worldwide.
