Legendary pop singer Michael Jackson’s first of the several new albums are due for release in November 2010, almost a year and a half after the singer died in June 2009.
The late King of Pop’s posthumous album features 10 never-before-heard songs from the King of Pop.
The album will be the first in a 10-project, seven-year deal worth 250 million dollars that Jackson estate executors signed with Sony Music bosses in March, a spokesperson for the estate confirmed.
Jackson left behind hard drives filled with previously unreleased music, with his former manager Frank DiLeo estimating Jackson”s vaults contain more than 100 completed and unreleased songs, including collaborations with Akon, will.i.am and Ne-Yo, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The tracks are expected to be included in the forthcoming release, alongside songs Jackson recorded at the peak of his career in the 1980s.
“There are a couple of songs we recorded for the Bad album that we had to cut that are just sensational,” DiLeo told RollingStone.com
A woman, who claims to be the late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s illegitimate love child, has filed legal documents for a share of his estate, saying that her existence was being covered up.
Mocienne Petit Jackson claims that back in 1975, 17-year-old Jackson secretly impregnated her mother Barbara, who happens to be singer Diana Ross’ sister, TMZ.com reported.
And that when she was 9-years-old, Katherine Jackson hatched a plan to “abduct” her and send her off to Belgium to protect the late singer’s reputation.
In documents she filed with L.A. County Superior Court she also claims that all 7 of her abductors were later murdered.
Mocienne, who currently lives in the Netherlands, decided to come forward with her story so she can formally claim a part of the inheritance.
She is waiting for the judge to give the go-ahead on a DNA test, and claims that she was diagnosed with Vitiligo.
She also wants custody of MJ’s kids so she can give them a “more normal life”.
A boy brought up by legendary pop star Michael Jackson and his family is rumoured to be his secret son, according to insiders.
Donte Williams Jackson may be the son of the King of Pop and a mystery woman he had a brief fling with.
The Jackson family has raised the 18-year-old boy since he was a toddler and he still lives with Jackson’s 80-year-old mother Katherine.
Alejandra Oaziaza, who has four kids by Jacko’s brothers Randy and Jermaine, mainly looked after Donte.
Earlier it was thought that Donte was the son of Alejandra and Randy, before she left him for Jermaine.
But he can’t be their biological son as he was born just eight months after their previous child.
It is now being speculated that Donte is the son of Jackson from an affair in Las Vegas in the 1990s.
“Michael was always very close to Donte. We’re not even sure if Donte knows who his parents are. He’s one of the nicest kids you could possibly meet,” The Sun quoted a source as saying.
The former home of Michael Jackson could be turned into California”s latest state park.
The idea has been pitched by assemblyman Mike Davis, who wants to convert Jackson”s 2,500-acre estate – which once housed amusement park rides and a zoo with tigers and snakes.
According to him, NAACP president Alice Huffman and others approached him with the idea.
Colony Capital LLC, a Santa Barbara-based private equity firm, co-owns the estate with the Jackson family, after he had nearly lost it to foreclosure.
“Given that we have an economic shortfall … I suspect it would be difficult for the State Parks Department to purchase the property alone,” The Telegraph quoted Davis as saying.
“I am committed to finding out all the details possible to make this a good proposal,” he added.
It”s not clear how the state would pay for even part of the ranch or ongoing costs to maintain and operate it, given recent budget cuts to the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Legendary singer Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has reportedly struck a business deal to produce and distribute movies about the life of the late King of Pop.
According to TMZ, Jackson’s mother has hundreds of hours of video, including the family’s move from Gary, Indiana to Los Angeles after The Jackson 5 signed with Mowtown in 1968.
Howard Mann, who co-authored a book called ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ with Katherine, is reported to have bought the rights to more videos of the King of Pop owned by his friend and business partner Marc Shaffel, reports the New York Post.
Katherine, 80, is reportedly involved in a business deal to produce and distribute several movies about the life of the legendary singer.
However, the late singer’s estate has the exclusive right to market the Michael’s name and image, which could put the movie plans in a tricky legal position, TMZ reported.
Michael Jackson’s three children are being taken care of by the King of Pop’s ex-wife.
Jackson’s mother Katherine told that Debbie Rowe, mother of the late superstar’s eldest children is taking care of the kids.
Debbie is the biological mother of Prince Michael, 13, and Paris, 12.
Katherine said during a TV interview that she had never met Debbie, an ex-nurse before the King of Pop died in June 2010.
“We cried together. We talked. We had a nice time together,” the Daily Express quoted Katherine as saying.
“Debbie is happy with the arrangement the way Michael left it, with me as the children’s legal guardian. I respect her and love her for that. Debbie is their biological mother and I feel she should be in their lives,” she added.
“Debbie is now a regular visitor to Encino, the Los Angeles suburb where Katherine and the children live. We have clicked and I want those visits to continue,” said 80-year-old Katherine.
Apart from spending time with her children Prince and Paris, Debbie also takes care of 8-year-old Blanket, the identity of whose surrogate mother has never been revealed, reports The Daily Express.
“The kids are doing fabulously well. They are all straight A students,” Katherine said.
Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s father Joe has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the star’s doctor.
In his complaint, Joe, who is seeking damages of more than 75,000 dollars, alleges that Dr Conrad Murray was negligent in administering his son with the anaesthetic propofol and other drugs, the BBC reported.
He also accused him of secrecy and poor training and claimed that Dr Murray’s clinics in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Houston, Texas, did not adequately supervise him.
The case will run parallel with the criminal trial against Dr Murray, which is expected to begin next year.
A spokeswoman for the doctor said she would not comment until his lawyers had reviewed the lawsuit.
