Deepika Padukone was getting sentimental on the last day of shooting for Love Aaj Kal.
The actress got so much attached to the crew members that she took them to an impromptu dinner. The assistant directors, production assistants and costume team also accompanied them.
“It was a very informal thing. All of us are of the similar age group and we got along splendidly while shooting,” says Deepika.
The group had a blast there.
“We had been together for so long during the shooting that we had become like a family. And the dinner was absolute fun. We spent the evening remembering the time we spent together, laughing at internal jokes and spilling secrets”, Deepika recalls.
After signing two double roles in six months, (Om Shanti Om and Deepika Padukone) and now she will be doing what very few actresses have done.
Deepika Padukone gets a chance to do a full fledge comedy in Sajid Khan’s Houseful.
She would not be doing a few comedy scenes but in fact her complete role is based on hardcore comedy. “It’s a hardcore comic role. And I wonder how I’ll manage it. Main koshish karungi. Sajid has a great sense of humour and I’d go by his vision. Sajid just told me to follow him. If my director has so much confidence in me I can’t let him down”, says Deepika.
The problem with doing this role is that Deepika has a very sober image till now. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a sense of fun. I plan to have a ball doing Houseful. I’m a reserved person in real life. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be funny for the camera”, the actress adds further.
“I’m very fond of both of them. At a time when the entertainment industry wasn’t too confident of me Farah trusted me completely. She didn’t even audition me. Farah was the one who spotted in me a talent and actually cast me opposite Shah Rukh”, she says.
Bollywood’s young beauty Deepika Padukone has been living it up fully, but not with her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

Bollywood actors Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone were forced to dance on the streets of Kochi when they visited the city to shoot for their film Karthik Calling Karthik.
There was a group of 20-25 youngsters who came to the Kochi fort while the shooting was going on and did not let the unit shoot until both Deepika and Farhan danced with them to the tunes of Rock On!!.
A unit member reveals that they had all the required permissions to shoot and never thought that crowd would be an issue as South Indian films are more popular in Kochi.
However, a group of youngsters landed at the location and requested the stars to dance with them.
“Farhan and Deepika, who are both extremely shy, refused at first. However, the crowd went crazy and did not allow them to shoot. They started making a noise and they were so loud that it was impossible to concentrate on the shoot. Finally both of them had to agree. The crowd piped down and left only after Farhan and Deepika danced for at least 10 minutes with them”, the person added.
Deepika Padukone has an admirer Rob Cohen in Hollywood.
But on the other hand, the actress also feels that she is not the only actress to win the hearts of western people over.
“The West is now more aware of Bollywood’s beauty and talent, and it isn’t my victory alone. Most of the young Bollywood actors – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Sonam – have been noticed in Hollywood in some way or the other”, Deepika feels.
“The media that has made this possible”, she concedes graciously.
“Talent was always there in our country, but with the media having such a wide reach today, we can reach across the globe more easily”, she adds on further
