Welsh singer/songwriter Charlotte Church is said to have flown into a tizzy when her new diamond engagement ring dropped down a plughole while she was washing her hands.
Church, 24, was left horrified when the ring disappeared in a bathroom basin at the Welsh farmhouse she shares with rugby star fiance Gavin Henson, who was not at home at the time.
Plumber Andy Ward was about to set off on holiday when he got the frantic call to Church’s 20-acre home at St Brides Major, near Bridgend.
“The ring was trapped in the U-bend and Andy found it within minutes. Charlotte was incredibly relieved,” the Mirror quoted a friend as saying.
The mum-of-two had been given the ring by Henson, 28, after her 24th birthday in February.
The two plan to marry on an island hideaway.
Simon Cowell has topped a new poll of the ‘Most Desirable Men’.
The 50-year-old, who has already topped the list of TV’s richest stars, has won city website Groupola’s ‘I shouldn’t but I would’ list, reports the Daily Express.
Cowell pipped the likes of cuddly Gavin and Stacey star James Corden, comedian Ricky Gervais and presenter Jeremy Clarkson, 50, to the top spot.
There was no sign of favourites Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt or George Clooney in the list.
The crook who robbed Indian-American actor-turned-politician Kal Penn at gunpoint may now be regretting – because the Secret Service has joined the investigation of the case, it has emerged.
Penn, real name Kalpen Modi, was robbed earlier this week in Washington D.C. by an unidentified man who fled with his wallet and personal belongings.
According to TMZ.com, the robber also took off with Penn”s two cell phones, one of which was issued by the US government.
The Harold & Kumar actor left Hollywood in 2008 to join President Obama”s team as the associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement.
Since one of the stolen phones belongs to the government, the Secret Service is said to have joined the D.C. Metro Police Department in the investigation of the robbery.
White House communications reportedly stopped service on the stolen phone immediately after Penn informed them of the robbery.
“No information was compromised because no official numbers were in the phone,” the New York Daily News quoted a source, as saying.
Brooke Shield is happy that the photographer who clicked her nude picture of her as a child was not able to make out profit from it, calling his financial struggles “justice”.
The ‘Pretty Baby’ star posed nude for photographer Garry Gross as a pre-teen and alleges that he tried to make money by selling the picture when she turned 16.
“Everything that happened that felt sordid (about the shoot) happened after the fact. My kids walk around naked all the time, and I was nine – I wasn”t uncomfortable doing it,” The Daily Star quoted her as telling Easy Living magazine.
“When I was 16, I wouldn”t have done it. That guy (original photographer Garry Gross) waited until I was 16 before he decided to publish it – he tried to take this famous person and sell her out.
“My favourite part about the whole story is that Richard Prince photographed that picture and made millions of dollars, and the guy that tried to screw me to begin with is a dog walker, and has no money. That”s justice in a really weird way. One day I”ll have to explain it to my kids, but I”ll figure it out,” she added.
Pamela Anderson has confessed that her dream job is to play a Bond Girl.
She admitted that the role in the Bond series is what she aims at.
“Wouldn’t that be great? I could check that off ‘the list’ if it happened. I’m going to start preparing for that possibility,” The Daily Star quoted her as saying.
Anderson, 42, is currently a participant on reality TV show ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in the US.
While most struggle to shed their baby weight, celebrities like Jennifer Lopez have done it effortlessly, all thanks to a new French diet, which claims you can eat whatever you want and yet not put on the pounds.
The Dukan diet is fast becoming popular and it is already Amazon’s No1 diet book – even though it doesn’t go on sale until May 13.
More than 1.5 million French women already swear by the slimming regime devised by nutritionist Dr Pierre Dukan 10 years ago. And over the last decade it has spread by word of mouth, web forum and blog to 20 countries.
Lopez, 40, who is a firm believer of the Dukan diet, lost a lot of weight and regained her foxy figure two years after becoming mum to twins Emme and Max.
“I just remember being pregnant and marvelling at the hugeness of every area of my body,” the Mirror quoted Lopez as saying.
“I’d stand there naked and look in the mirror from all angles. I did marvel at how my already ample rear end was now humongous!
“I worked out a lot. I struggled to get rid of the last 20 pounds. I had to change my eating habits after having the twins.
“I eat a lot less now than I used to. But I love bread and you’re not allowed bread with most diets,” she explained about her weight loss.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who gave birth to son Benjamin four months ago, has also sprung back into super-slender shape and was even confident enough to wear a clingy, purple dress in Paris earlier this month.
And Jessica Szohr, the star of TV teen drama Gossip Girl, says the diet suits her perfectly because it lets her keep up her daily rhythm of sport, filming and shopping without feeling like she’s on a diet.
“I eat lots of animal and vegetable proteins in the form of meat and soya and I never feel hungry. If I overindulge, I make up for it the following day by exercising or by eating smaller portions,” she said.
Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly set to play the lead role in an upcoming prequel of the ”The Wizard of Oz.”
Production Weekly reports that the actor, who is also in yet to release comic book sequel ‘Iron Man 2,’ is in talks to star in “Oz: The Great and Powerful.”
The prequel tale would follow the wonderful wizard when he first arrived in the faraway land somewhere over the rainbow.
On the other hand, Sam Mendes is a possible contender to direct the project but reports have also hinted that “Hairspray” director Adam Shankman could get behind the camera, reports The New York Daily News.
Written by screenwriter Mitchell Kapner, the script is based off of elements from different L. Frank Baum books, the author of the original “Oz” tales, the Los Angeles Times reported.
