After directing two films ? Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar and Dil Maange More, Ananth Mahadevan finally tasted success with Aksar that was tagged as the first hit of 2006. Post Aksar there were speculations that he would be making a sequel to the film. But Ananth confirmed that it?s not a sequel but a series that he is planning. The next episode in the series was titled Agar starring Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade.

Son of Taahir Hussain and step brother of Aamir Khan, Hyder Ali Khan has walked out of the film Deepa Ka Tarannum, which also had Preeti Jain in the lead cast. The film was going to mark Hyder?s acting debut. However, Hyder says that there wasn?t any progress from the producers after they signed him for the film. Hence, he decided to walk out of Deepa Ka Tarannum.
United Film Organizers (UFO Moviez), the world?s largest digital cinema network, announced their tie in with Sajid Nadiadwala for his upcoming film Jaan-E-Mann. Jaan-E-Mann is planned to be released over 1000 screens, including UFO?s chain of digital cinemas. This will not only enable Jaan-E-Mann in gaining a larger audience but also recovering revenues in the maximum revenue generating weeks.
R. Mohan, the man who gave us the hard hitting film Chandni Bar is back. He is now making Gauri ? The Unborn. The film stars Atul Kulkarni, Rituparna Sengupta and Anupam Kher in lead roles and will be directed by Aku Akbar. Akbar is a well-known director down south having made some Malayalam films. The film will be shot from a start to finish schedule in Kerala.
Karan Johar is going places. After going to the Toronto Film Festival and a stopover in New York, Karan is back in Mumbai to endorse the products of Hewlett & Packard.
Reveals Karan, “Yes, it’s my first endorsement. They’ve got four or five leaders from various fields to endorse their products. They got the market leaders, so to say. I was chosen from media and entertainment. I didn?t do it for any monetary purposes. I did it because their campaign seemed to suggest they wanted architects and not tools from various fields.”
